How to Get a Manufacturing Quote

Need a quote for CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication or other custom parts? Start with your CAD files and an email address. Ten Precision’s engineers will review your design, clarify any missing requirements and prepare a quotation.

1. Prepare your files

Upload at least one CAD file. STEP (.step or .stp) is preferred; the form also accepts formats such as IGES, STL, DXF and DWG. You can include PDF drawings to explain dimensions, tolerances, threads or inspection requirements. A PDF alone is not enough for an online submission.

You can upload up to 5 files, with a maximum of 20 MB per file and 50 MB in total. Upload files individually rather than in a ZIP archive. If your files exceed these limits or you only have a PDF drawing, email rfq@tenprecision.com to discuss your request.

Use clear filenames that identify the part and drawing revision, so we can confirm which design you need quoted.

2. Tell us what matters

Open Request a Quote, add your files and enter an email address you regularly check. No account is required.

You can submit before every detail is final. To help us prepare an accurate manufacturing quote, share what you already know:

  • Material and surface finish.
  • Quantity for each part.
  • Critical tolerances, threads and inspection needs.
  • Target delivery date and destination.

Add these details in the notes, or include them in your supporting drawing. If you are unsure about a material or process, describe how the part will be used so our engineers can discuss suitable options with you.

Read the privacy notice, complete the security check and submit your request.

3. Keep your RFQ reference

After a successful submission, the page displays your RFQ reference. Keep it for follow-up emails. A confirmation email is also sent; check your spam folder if it does not appear.

While the confirmation page remains open, you can correct your email, replace files or add your name, quantity and requirements. Select Save changes when finished. After refreshing or leaving the page, send later changes to rfq@tenprecision.com with your reference and the latest drawing revision.

When will I receive a price?

Each request is reviewed by our engineers. The time needed depends on the design’s complexity and whether the manufacturing requirements are complete. We will contact you by email to clarify details and provide a quotation. Include your target date if timing is important.

Does submitting an RFQ place an order?

Submitting a request starts the quotation process. Manufacturing begins after the quotation and manufacturing details are confirmed under the agreed order terms.
